- Automotive Radiators: For older cars, especially classic cars, the radiator fan can be turned on only when needed. Our bimetal disc senses the temperature of the coolant and closes an electrical switch when the temperature reaches the designed trip point. This turns on the fan and cools the radiator fluid. The fan is then shut off when the coolant temperature drops to the designed reset point. In this way, the fluid stays within the designed temperature range.
- On Off-Road vehicles: The temperature of fluids (e.g. hydraulic fluid) needs to be monitored. Our bimetal disc senses over/under temperature conditions in the fluid and then closes or opens a circuit to address the condition.
